I've read the faq on speedometer's located at the top of the board but I'm not totally sure its that(or could it be).\

I just purchases a 95 neon and the speedometer and odometer seemed to be working fine untill this afternoon. They both don't work and once in ahwile the speedometer will come back to life and just go back down to zero. When I tap on it, it sometimes goes to 20km/h. Can anyone help me with this?

 

WTH... its been working fine for the past 10 minutes.... THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS REALLY ANOYING!

 

It is most likely a loose solder on the back of the cluster. Its not that hard to re-solder them, just try it if it does not work it didn't take that much to try.

 

I had the same problem for years, along with my instrument panel lights going off and on while hitting bumps . my mechanic put in a used instrument panel last week and it seems that the problem is solved . I f I knew about the solder repair I would have tried that first but the used instrument panel was still pretty inexpensive.
