Can anyone tell me if Neons come with an alarm fitted as standard. I recently discovered that my alarm under the bonnet (R/H side as you look in) had been turned off by the previous owner and i am not sure if it is standard (96 plate chrysler neon SOHC). When i turned it back on with the key, it bleeped 3 times. So i thought, ok its just re-activating, so i shut the bonnet and locked the car by the remote. then when i unlocked the car, the alarm went off the second the door locks shot up. Can anyone tell me what the original alarm looks like? If mine is standard, is there a procedure to turn it back on. i suspect there may be a fault with it hence it being turned off before i bought the car.

There were no factory alarms in the 96. Its aftewrmarket and unless you have the little key fob button is going to do no good. Just turn it back off and have an alarm installed or get a transmitter programed for it.

 

I have a key fob for it which works the remote central locking, i am sure it is for the alarm as well but just need to tie in its activation correctly.
