Question Polyurethane Bushings

It has been years since I've been on this forum. I had gotten rid of my 95 neon back in 2008. Took all my performance parts off the car and gave them to a friend with another 95 neon. Just recently, I bought his neon from him with all the parts I had given him. He had not installed a single performance part.

I have recently installed polyurethane bushings in my 95 Neon. After installation and alignment, I now get a weird acting suspension. When I accelerate, the steering shifts and the front end feels like it pops up. When I brake or let off the gas, it pops back down and the steering shifts back to normal. I am wondering if I may have the bushings on backwards. There are no specific directions on which way the bushings should go. On the vertical bushing, there is a rounded lip on one side of the control arm. I suspected that you press the thinner side of the polyurethane in from that side and did so. Any advice on what to do next?

I know this sounds like a weird problem. Does anyone else have Energy Suspension Polyurethane Bushings installed on their Neon? If so, can you take a picture of the vertical and horizontal control arm bushing and let me see how ya have them installed?

The suspension literally pops (I can feel it in the wheel) and raises up about an inch in the front end.

Can anyone share pics of their bushings so I can make sure mine are installed correct?

The bushing are not likely the issue. This sound could be a faulty cv axle, or bad engine mounts.

Nope, new axles and mounts. It's not a sound, the car literally raises up and down while driving. First one side, then the other. Only started after installing the bushings. I had someone follow along side on the highway and watch. It's almost as if the bushings are coming out during acceleration pushing the lower control arms down and sliding back into place when you let off the gas.
