1995 Neon Intake Manifold Issue

Exclamation 1995 Neon Intake Manifold Issue

Just picked up a 95 Neon Coupe to fix up. Owner told me car was all original outside of maintenance. Supposed to have a stock 2.0 SOHC. Can't help but wonder if the block isn't original though. The interior side of the manifold sprung a leak. Here's where the actual problem comes. These are supposed to come with a plastic manifold. All references and replacements I can find are plastic. Mine? Cast metal and encompasses not only the throttle body per the norm but also the thermostat housing to direct coolant flow into the block. Just going to fix the manifold itself however I am struggling to get it out. I removed all the injectors, fuel rail, EGR, hoses, etc. All the bolts up top including one underneath securing a line along the bottom of the manifold. It wiggles away from the block slightly but refuses to budge any further. Don't wanna yank on it too hard and break something.

So... How do I remove this thing or discover the identity of my block, haha??? Here are a few pictures for reference.

That's a 2.0 DOHC motor, not a SOHC. Easy tell is to look at the timing belt cover on the left. It's wide and has space for 2 cam gears.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the bracket that holds the throttle linkage to the throttle body has a plate behind it that secures the intake manifold to a bolt that also holds on the starter and another bolt that holds the transmission to the engine. Check where the engine meets the transmission. If that's not it, there could be part of the PVC system still holding it to the block. On those 94-95 neons, they have a PCV box under the Intake Manifold.

Thanks for the info sabin. My knowledge of motors isn't as polished as I'd like but that's why I slog through it all myself, haha. I'll check out what you mentioned in the morning. Knowing it's a dual definitely helps a lot. First time working on one anyways. From what I've read though, there shouldn't be much of a different between the overall set up of the single and dual.
