'98 Neon: Stalls OUT COMPLETELY after 6 to 8 miles

'98 Neon: Stalls OUT COMPLETELY after 6 to 8 miles
Hey Neon enthusiasts! I hope you can point me in the right direction.
I purchased a Purple 1998 Neon (Plum-berry) with ~ 76k. Seems like the speedometer / odometer goes out periodically so i think that it has a "FEW" more miles on it that that.
ANYWAY it currently has ~ 100k. Other than normal maintenance I have replaced the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat, engine mounts, coil pack, wires and plugs; valve cover casket & donuts.
CANT SEEM TO KEEP IT RUNNING.! Like clockwork. after siting for some time 1+ HOURS, it will start right up, I can drive it, depending how long it sits, ~ 6 to 8 miles and I get a "hick-up" the tach and speedometer, dips momentarily and then it stalls right out! and either I wont start or runs so ruff I can drive it like ~ 1/4 mile and it will be dead.
Any direction will be appreciated!
