Hi there, picked up a used 96 neon with about 65k miles for 380 USD. Its making a loud tapping sound at idle up until about 2000 rpm when it completely disappears and runs like a top. Tried running some seafoam engine oil detergent through her and hasnt made a difference. Gonna run her for a bit more than do an oil and filter change. Hasn't had one in a few years as its been sitting. Anything else I can do or check to get rid of the sound. The car doesnt have an oil pressure gauge in the dash which is a pain. Sound like rod knock to me.
