Default Rust on the vavles...

I have a 95 SOHC, and I am doing an engine swap. We took off the intake manifold and the vavles have a little rust on them. But the engine was compression tested and it ran fine. I drained the oil, and there was no water or anything... Does anyone know what it could be or what could cause it?

How long was the engine sitting before you bought it? Condensation happens man, you live in a humid area? probably all it is from.

About a month. So that's what I figured. But I was just making sure. And I wasn't too worried about it, because there wasn't any water in the oil. But we cleaned them up with some 30 weight. And we are starting my neon up tomorrow! 2 weeks into this engine swap and we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
