low rpm miss
I have a 97 neon sohc. When engine is cold it runs o.k.. As it warms up it starts to miss and backfire at lower rpm at wide open throttle. At rpm above 3000 or so it runs o.k.. The warmer it gets the more it misses at wide open throttle. There is a code 43 in system. The coil pack and plug wires checks o.k. with ohm meter. I put in new plugs first but it made no diffrence.I checked battery voltage and its o.k..When it gets at operating temp and you hold it at wide open throttle the service engine light flashes. Never saw one do that before. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks.

Could be a bad injector or wire. Try replacing the wires and running some injector cleaner through the motor.

after you checked the wires and changed the plugs, did you reset the PCM? the engine missing and backfire could be caused by a bad TPS. good luck.

Both of these are good ideas.
Also make sure there isn't any oil slipping into the spark plug tubes around the plug wires.
