I have a 95 neon with an auto tranny. All of a sudden reverse quit working, no warnings, no weird noises, just stopped working. Fluid levels were fine and the fluid didn't smell burned. I was wondering if this has something to do with the reverse band adjustment or if this was something more serious. any help?????

 

Got first or low gear? same clutch packs, if not time to get a used one or rebuild.

 

I had a 95 auto, same thing happened to mine, but at first if i put it in reverse and give it alot of gas it would go, but that only lasted about 3 days, then nothing, i change fluid and filter and stuff, but no help, then 3rd gear started messing up, i had to manually shift from 1 to 2 and get it up to 70 mph and throw it in 3rd and it would go, then the motor went boom not long after that, so i just bought another neon, but a 5 speed.

 

Should of bought a 5 speed, as much as I love Dodges, the auto trannys arnt good for **** in the 90'S models.

 

You are gonna need to have the trans either serviced or rebuilt/replaced.
