I have a 1998 R/T and i havent changed my oil sence sept of last year. I was going to put Mobil 1 in it but was wondering if i should flush thhe engine with some engine flush before i do so. Any ideas on that?

 

Since its been so long I would definantly do that just to be on the safe side, left over dirty oil resadu is not a good thing.

 

Use a high quality motor flush. Most of the cheaper ones contain alchol, methanol, or kerosene. Don't use these or diesel fuel because it drys out gaskets. I highly recomend golden eagle. Transfluid works too, it's cheap and it's plentyful lol. It's highly detergent and you can drain all your old oil and fill it up with trans fluid. It has enough lubrication and heat capacity to run for 15 minutes. That's what Valvoline does. We use Golden Eagle Delux gallon flush.
