i was thinking all night about putting a 2.4 in my car, not from an srt-4 but from a 98 stratus...my question is if anyone knows if my 5speed trans, exhaust manifold, and clutch would work on the 2.4 or not???

 

does anyone know what the difference is between the block or head too

 

Im getting ready for a 2.4 swap out of an 2nd gen stratus myself. I would try to find one with a manual tranny.

 

yeah but if i dont then would my stuff work, i didnt know that a stratus came in manual

 

I dont think so, youd have to hunt down a manaul tranny, Ive posted about this in the stratus section before and they say the manual wont bolt up to the 2.4. The 1st gen stratus didnt have a manual but the 2nd did.

 

The Neon's 5-speed will bolt right up to any Dodge built 2.4L block, including the cloud cars, Caravans, and PT Cruisers. It will not bolt up to the Mitsubishi-built 2.4L engine that came in the newer Stratus coupes. Heck, the tranny will bolt right up to the old Dodge 2.2L and 2.5L engines...
