i am replacing my clutch pretty soon. and while i am going that i want to swap the motor.

i have the DOHC motor currently in the car. the only motors i can find are SOHC.

do the DOHC motors have the same block as DOHC?

and what years motors i can bolt right in

 

The short blocks are the same. You will have to swap all the internals, but other than that you can use any block from a 1st gen.

 

the pistons are different but it will work like he said..as long as it is all switched... atleast the pistons for internals....95-99 will work fine
