Default guage cluster problem (yes i read the faq)

Wondering if anyone has any clue why this would be happening...99 neon, I bought a new cluster with the tach and hooked it up months and months ago. When i first put it in it wasn't working so i took it back out and re soldered the connections as stated in the faq, worked great.

Just recently though the gauges work fine until the car has been used for about an hour or so, then they quit working. Let the car sit for a couple hours and they work again...keep driving for an hour and they quit.

I'm about to just throw this one out and use the stock one..had no problems with it.

Believe it, or not, when you change the gauge cluster, sometimes the mounting screws will loosen up over time. Take the cluster out and check the connectors on the back and the connectors in the dash for corrosion. Also repeat the resoldering process. Remount the cluster making sure the mounting screws are tight. Total time is about 20 mins. This should cure your problem. If not, the cluster may be bad.
