Default problem after problem

let's start with the basics. i have a 97 neon (plymouth, but it's all the same, eh) sohc mtx, about 66k on the odo. bout a year ago it started with a shuddering at speed, idled fine. replaced coil pack, plugs, wires, cam sensor, air filter, valver cover gaskets and such.still shuddering, so i replaced the o2 sensors after some research said that was the culprit. shudder went away for a bit, but then it began stalling. talked to a mechanic who said it was starving for fuel. on the way home the car dies and hasn't started since october. replaced the battery and alternator shortly before and since have replaced the fuel pump and rewired half the car (apparently was in an accident and the rear o2 sensor was ripped away. had to manually splice wires when i replaced it.) it has been suggested that the pcm may be an issue, as the injector wires are putting out 9v and the injectors themselves have 12ohms resistance (don't know much about all that mess, just how to run wire). i'm fairly stumped, extremely frustrated (as i'm stuck driving a beat up kia sportage at the moment), and wondering if it is worth it to continue pursuit or trade for something else. any info is welcome and appreciated.

If your haveing to spend this much money on the thing its time to get a new one, unless you really love the thing. Wile I love Neons I know most dont and if your really just bought the car to get around its time for a new one.

was only getting o2 sensor codes. finally those went away. now i get:
11- no distributor reference signalduring cranking
41- problem with charging system. an open or shorted condition detected in generator field
control circuit. (possible i crossed the two wires on the alternator, havent checked yet)
42- fuel pump or asd relay control circuit indicates an open or shorted condition.

it is possible i crossed the wires, but i wanted to get some other opinions before i get under there for a third time. as i said above the car was wrecked before and the wiring is a bit of a mess, i did the best i could with the schematic in my service manual. was thinking of getting a whole new wiring harness.
