Changing starter on 95 neon
hey I just got my neon like a week ago so repairing it is kinda new to me I'm trying to remove the starter i've got the smaller bolt out that holds the starter ground wire on i'm just not able to figure out which other bolt to remove i've read its on the bell housing does anyone have a pic or are you able to better explain if so please post thanks.
The little bolt with the ground cable is on the bottom and comes out on the starter side. The top bolt goes out the other way, the threaded end is sticking out on the starter side, the bolt goes through the starter and bellhousing, with the head on the bellhousing side. There's only the two bolts holding it in...
Best of luck!
Best of luck!
the head of the bolt snapped I know it wasen't good but it didn't make a difference because the starter was screwed anyways and since the bolt threads into the starter and not the block it makes no difference the starter just wiggled out with half a bolt stuck in it I already knew all this b4 I started because of what i'd read it was seized like a bitch so when it snapped I was happy anyways I got a starter of a buddies parts car and the bolt in it came out just fine since the starter had been changed mine was still the original my car is a 1995 with 150,000km its really in good shape the body has 2 lil rust spots but otherwise $1000 well spent haha.buying a car for that cheap makes modifcation easy an affordable since you start off with a small investment.
