Default Tossing ideas

Im still flippin tossing ideas! i have this motor sittin around, i plan to do a bottom end kit with it, but i want to go turbo eventually. or even now go turbo just run low a psi, So my question is, how reliable would a stocker be with a 5-7psi boost be? What kinda things can really go wrong? I also have an auto tranny so it wouldnt be over reving the motor at all (mabye just for the sake of reving in park but thats it) Healp!

On 5-7 psi very reliable with stock internals. You could also put SRT internals in there and it would be a cheap build. SRT owners are always selling their turbo's and internals trying to go bigger.

If you are looking to build your own turbo kit, I suggest the first $25 you spend is on a book called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. It's a great book for building turbos.

Here is a good How-to but it isn't for a neon. Have yet to see one online for a neon, but it gives you an idea of what you will be dealing with.

Here is another book that is all about the neon and modifying it.

Depends on the turbo. With a regular T3, maybe 180ish HP total. With Super 16G, maybe 225ish HP. Without an intercooler, or with an insufficient intercooler, a bit less. And you'll only see that with some tuning time on the dyno.

I'll say it again. PSI can not be directly linked to HP. Read the book, it says the same thing.

Where did that notion or thinking come from Radarlove?
