Default Neon Problems again

Love this car, but its being a royal pain lately :-P.

1) I know I have O2 problems, working on getting money to get that stuff fixed

2) When I run the car for a while, and am at a stop light or such, if I tap the gas (as in like tap it in 1/4") it bogs down to about 500rpm and dies of I dont give it more gas. It will not do this when its not been run for a while. I also noticed the car to idle around 1600-2000rpm if I am moving with the clutch depressed but then I come to a stop and it drops back to 800 - 900rpm.

3) I checked the OBD again, its now throwing codes 12, the 50 cycles thing, 21, O2 sensor, and now 17, which I have looked up but I am not exactly sure what it means.

I am planning on getting some cheap headers, and cheap high-flow cat and getting 2 new O2 sensors and just rebuilding my whole exhaust system. I have been told that the problem could possibly be that the Cat is almost plugged, and if I am reading correctly, with the bad O2 sensors, it increases the rate at which the cat goes bad.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys! (and girls)

Code 17 saying that you are not recieving proper Coolant Temperature reading for closed loop. Probably need a Engine temp or coolant temp sensor which ever the old neon has. Sounds like it is stcuk in open loop running rich.

It could also be his thermostat.

Hmm good point, now that you say that, I do recall my overflow tank bubbling and a bit of coolant on the ground from it. Think I will change the thermostat monday then :-D Thanks guys!
