Default Open door, no lights?

Hi all. I recently bought a 1998 neon off of a private owner. I got a great deal, but there are a few problems I'd like to care of. The main problem I have is that no interior lights seem to work. When a door is opened, the interior lights do not come on. Nor do, I believe, the glove comparment or trunk lights work. I can turn the interior light on with the light swich and I also checked the fuse switch under the hood and it seemed fine (was not able to remove all the way, but when I pulled it out I could not turn the interior light on anymore). What else could the problem be? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

Does your door ajar light work??? If not no signal to turn light on, Check fuses under dash as well.

Fuses in a neon are inside the dash on the drivers side. Check the fuse in there.

if its the door jams, they are just one screw and they pull out, very simple and very easy...when you open the door, on the drivers side there are 2, one above the loop part that the door latch grabs and one under....same on the passenger side, but there is only one...my bet is that is your problem( i had the same one not to long ago)

bottom left of the fuse panel on the left of the dash there should be a green relay, right next to a big black one. if its not there, get one from the JY. i fixed this on my car finally! today. damn that was alot of trouble for one lil relay.

sorry for bumpin an old post das, but this one gave me hell to solve and this post was also unresolved.
