Default performance pcm with turbo?

is it better to run the stock pcm with a turbo or performance? one of my buddies told me that a turbo should be ran with the stock pcm. also, my turbo doesn't seem to be releasing, it just continues to spool up and hesitate until i let off the gas and then does it all over again. it's all a big mess and i have a feeling that sh** is about to hit the fan...... HELP :/

what are you using for a blow-off valve or bypass valve? what do you mean by not releasing? if it hesitates while on the gas, it might be a number of things...not enough fuel, intake tract has a leak, incorrect gapped plugs. anyway you can give more detail as to what's going on?

it's got an hks sequential blow off valve. i have the apexi avc-r controller installed and it's reading that the boost is spooling up and you can feel it but say in 3rd gear sometimes it just wont accelerate any more at 5,000 rpm and just kinda hesitates until i let off the gas and the bov releases. i was thinking maybe it needs the map sensor bypass valve but not sure. then again i bought the engine off someone else so i dont know a whole lot about it right now as to what it's even running for how much boost.

Tell your buddy he's right. Aftermarket PCM's advance the timing, bad for a turbo application. Also ths stock PCM can't see boost, therefore the need for a missing link or MAP clamp.
