well today as i was driving my sisters Neon and nothing really out of the norm. until i got the RPMs above 3grand and then i heard metal just clanking around. didn't happen when it was below 3grand but did when it gets above 3 grand. so i pulled into a parking lot and let the car idle (as much as it could atleast lol) and i heard a faint clanking coming from the oil pan. i think i already know the answer to this but... could that be the bottom end finally going?

 

Sounds like the piston and/or rod found it's way to the oil pan...BAD NEWS! Drop the oil pan and have a look.
