Default Brake pad question

I am curious to get the opinions of people in the know, aka you

I've got the "do-it-yourself" bug and a buddy is going to help me change the brake pads on my '99 R/T. I'm looking to get some reasonable life out these pads. My OEM pads lasted about 50k miles. Took it to a brake shop twice and got 10k-15k each out of theirs.

Should I get the pads from my Dodge dealer? I think it has a Mopar outlet there too? Can I get long lasting pads down at the local parts shop?

Any other info that would help me be an educated shopper? Your preferred brand?

Thanks for the help! This forum is looking like a nice find.

when you do change the brakes, maybe look into new calliper pins, once when I changed mine the pin broke so I had to heat it to get it out, just a suggestion good luck !!

I think Mopar's "V-Line" has lifetime guaranteed pads.

You may want to look into the 2nd gen rotors up front. They have bigger cooling veins.
