I am having the same problem, but the keyhole is pretty much destroyed. The pins are falling out and the key wont turn. I can put the key in,. but it wont turn and the cylinder wont come out unless it can turn. How can I drill it without causing too much damage to the casing?
get a large screwdriver and hammer it in the lock....it wont hurt much of anything...when you get it hammered in there nice and good, then use a pair of channel locks to twist the lock...then push the button and pull it out.....i dont know how many cars ive had to do this too but ive never done any damage to the column or anything...this is also what i had to do to get my taurus SHO home from a junkyard
I only have a problem when it is cold out. Try using a hair dryer or heat the key until the metal expands enought for you to turn the key. May help for some...
I know this post is old...My key is stuck and it will not move either way! Is there a trick to re-moving the lock cylinder when the key is stuck in the ignition and won't move at all? Anyone know what size star security wrench is for a 95 to remove the entire lock cylinder housing?
