Default Camgear pull

aight so I been tryna get my engine out but since I dun have an engine hoist I cant lift it up, so one of my friends sugguested to take off the heads then get sumone to help me lift off the block. So I took off the timing belt cover an realized I gotta take off the cam gears to get to the back cover...
anyone got any tips on how to keep the gears from turning when you take out the bolt??
its drivin me crazy. the cars been on stands for a while...an the engine is on the jack for the nite.

man just go rent an engine crane. It will make life much easier.

but like pimpberetta said an impact wrench would be the best thing to keep it from moving.

if you cant get an engine hoist, put the timing belt back on, and with tension on that you can undo the bolts....if you dont wanna put the belt back on, then wrap the belt around the pulleys, and pull real tight....then unbolt them while pulling on the belt(ive done it like that before).....give it a shot, whats it gonna hurt???
