Default Painting

I painted my intake manifold runners and my plenum, also I painted my valve cover.. I used 1200 degree paint on all of it, but I cant find a clearcoat to match the 1200 degree paint.. think it would hurt anything to put 500 degree paint on it? I doubt anything other than maybe the exhaust manifold would reach 1200 degrees... But i dont wanna get all this done and go clean under my hood the first time and have it all come off! (I usually use a pressure washer) I will be sure to post pics once its all said and done too!

i would see it being a problem. My older brother had a camaro and painted some engine parts with regular spray paint and engine clear coat and it was fine for years, then it started to chip off

well I would expect it to chip off after a few years.. Hopefully I can get my hands on a powder coating system for cheap... I used the expensive 1200 degree paint.. I dont htink any of the parts I am painting woudl reach over 500 degrees though

i used some cheap metalcast spray paint from wal mart and never clear coated it....as long as the surface was clean it hadnt given me any problems....i think it was only 500 degree pain...but im not sure

New problem.. I didnt realise how humid it was outside until I started spraying the clearcoat on my valve cover.. Its 75% humidity atm here, is that gonna mess up the clearcoat? It went on kind of milky-colored..
