going back to the states in mid December of this year. i found that i like "playing" with my current '96 sohc mtx 4dr. want to stick with 1st gen, as i now know quite a bit about them. any thoughts about what year is the best to pick? i WILL need a/c, i've had lots of time with them so i know the deal. gas is a bit cheaper in the states than here, but it will still be a work car if that comes into play with yor thoughts. any ideas would help with my choice. thanks all.

 

I personally stick with 95's. but thats because i like how the steering wheel looks and the colors of the interior. plus they have a better cam in the SOHC.

 

Yeah, go with a 95

 

id go 99 dohc manual 2dr, only becuase of the chance of less miles on the car and less abuse but then again that wouldn't mean anything because it could have been used for racing or other hard driving, id still go 99 though

 

I'd say a 97-99 sohc, because of the variety of parts in junkyards that you can pick from. All the parts are interchangable and as far as the 95 having the better cam, just pick one from a junkyard and swap it in

 

yea, i was thinking 97-99 and a sohc would be easy to find. i take it no major probs with any year other than t-belt and HG? any other issues? thanks for the reply.
