Default '99 R/T Head questions

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any tip for taking off the head. I was told I have to take the starter off. Am I headed in the right direction.

get your self a haynes or chiltons book. It will make your life alot easier. Good step by steps on taking that kind of stuff apart.

REMOVAL
(1) Perform fuel system pressure release procedure before attempting any repairs.
(2) Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system.
(3) Remove air cleaner inlet duct and air cleaner (Fig. 32), disconnect all vacuum lines, electrical wir-ing
and fuel lines from throttle body.
(4) Remove throttle linkage.
(5) Remove accessory drive belts.
(6) Remove power brake vacuum hose from intake manifold.
(7) Raise vehicle and remove exhaust pipe from manifold.
(8) Remove power steering pump assembly and set aside.
(9) Disconnect coil pack wiring connector and remove coil pack and bracket from engine.
(10) Remove cylinder head cover.
(11) Remove cam sensor and fuel injectors wiring connectors.
(12) Remove intake manifold (SOHC ONLY)
(13) Remove timing belt and camshaft sprocket.
(14) Remove rocker arm shaft assemblies.
(15) Remove cylinder head bolts.

FSM's ROCK!!!!!

The Starter is bolted to the Block - not the head

das2123 pretty much gave you the details - but I don't get the SOHC only on the intake manifold - both SOHC and DOHC you will can disconnect the intake manifold or leave it on the Head and remove it with the Head.
