As far as I know, you don't need the SRT axles.

OK... so now I am confused... The guy I bought the car from had the whole engine in there already, without having to cut into the frame. The only problem was that he didnt alter anything at all with the mounts on the tranny side. By the looks of it, if I alter the tranny mount the way I am thinking (Beating out the insides, rotating the mount 180 degrees and filling it again) it will lower the engine the 1/2 inch it needs to be lowered in order for the passenger mount not to need the ghetto-rigged washers under it. The tranny fit in there without having to alter the frame or the mount with about 1/4 inch clearance, that I could see there being a problem with movement. But if I do what I want with the mount, it will lower the engine and tranny down to where its supposed to be. Any input? Also, I am putting the K-frame, axles, and I think I have to change the wheel hubs. I just dont want to have to change the front calipers because I dont know if they will work with the 1st gen brake booster, I am not about ot swap out brakes since i already have 4-wheel disk brakes. I have been running all this through my head lately, thinking of what I need to do to make this all work >.< Any input would be appreciated guys! Hope to be getting things together and such tonight, gotta get the 96 out of the garage, that shoudl be fun with no wheels, and put the R/T in, Iw ant to start the wiring and dash stuff. I want to try and fit the SRT-4 cluster in the 1st gen dash, as I dont want to have to fab up the door panels to fit the SRT-4 dash. Yes, very disorganized post, but this is all been in my head, so it explains alot!

You can swap the brakes over, but you need PT knuckles, different axles and some other stuff.

Yeah, I actually have everything from teh SRT-4 suspension and brakes, I just dont want to do it ;-) If I do it to the front, I woudl have to change over the booster and the back brakes. I have everything to do it, but I rather just keep the brakes I had. Thats if its possible to do that with the front A-arms being different.. I dont know, I have to fidget with parts and such. Main concern right now is that tranny. I dont think I would need to cut into the subframe to do it... Input?

I have heard you had to, but someone on here did without having to. Or so he claimed.

Well, tonight I got the 96 shell out of the garage.. and got the R/T back into the garage. I started on the gauge cluster, thinking maybe I could somehow get this to fit without changing out the whole dash- yeah wrong... So I think I might just end up str..stripping out the entire car and rewiring the whole thing from headlight to tail light.. Needless to say, I have some work to do over my Spring Break :-D
