Default temperature???

anyone know what the normal running temp is???

i wanna see if my temp sensor is goin bad, but need to know what the normal is first.

it just seems like the gauge in the cluster has been reading a little low....usually the gauge is just a little under what would be the the half mark, but lately it has only gone like 1/3 of the way up.....unless its overheating....but when you shut the car off there isnt any bubbling or anything like that so this si my next hope

Default RE: temperature???

discon lead from sensor. turn key to "on". temp should be at lowest. turn key off. ground the purple/yellow wire from the lead. turn key to "on". temp guage SHOULD be at highest reading, and the dash should chime for a bit after the seatbelt light goes out. turn key to off.

this is to check to make sure your gauge, circuit board, and wires are ok. kind of sounds like the t-stat is out (as most now days fail open). but if you still have overheating probs it's something diff't. good luck.
