Default AC in hot weather

Hi Im a new member and i just also purchased a 1996 Neon. It runs great and Im realy happy with my purchase. But I do have one question. Last night I was driving around town and it was very hot out and I had the AC on pretty high. I came to a stop sign and when i went to drive i had noticed that the car died. I had had the radio cranked up so I couldnt hear it die But now im wondering why it happend. Wether it was about the heat and the AC making the Enigine overheat or what. But when i looked at the temperatur of the engine it was normal. So i was wondering if any of you could tell me if that is what happend or if something else may be wrong with my car.

Russty.

Did it start right back up and have you noticed any other problems? Is the Check Engine Light on?

Watch the temp gauge next time and see if overheats...I doubt that was the culprit though. Keep an eye on things and listen to the car...turn down the radio some
