MTX Fluid
Sorry about pestering you people about this MTX fluid thing.. haha.. I just called the dealership and gave the number DAS said I should use my MTX neon... they told me the number had changed for one... and then told me that it was 15 bucks a quart! !&&^$! WOW... Is there something I can get from say Advanced Auto for my car that I can just add to my current transmission fluid?? I am not paying 15/quart for that oil..
Red Line MTX Synthetic is a good substitute. I know people who use it and have good things to say about it. Even NYG on here uses it.
*edit* I added the new part# for the MTX fluid and it was $14.80/qt here!

Best fluid is the stuff from the dealer. period. some say penzoil synchromesh is a less expensive alternative.
I got some of the mopar stuff from the dealership here at cost, which was like $8.75 a quart.

I just drained out what I had in it, which I assume was stock from the dealership because it was NASTY! Worst smellin' stuff I've ever smelled! And replaced it with Valvoline Synthetic Blend 80-90. Said it was OK in trannys requiring GL-5 and MT-1

On Engine Parts - Yes - I have found the dealer OE is sometimes better then the OTC parts I have bought.
I have found the new and improved Synthetic are Great - much better then the original stuff that was out there - If I used the Original Lubes in my car - it would probably explode with current racing conditions!
Power Steering is the most noticable - I had to switch to a Synthetic since the Dealer stuff would be mostly vaporized by the end of a race. and the Dealer stuff definately does not last as long as the Synthetic.
I did not notice it much with motor Oil - but then again - I would change the Oil after a full race weekend. the Synthetic come out looking cleaner then conventional - the Convention motor oil comes out pure black instead of the brownish color it would go as.
