i think the overheating thing would deffinetaly be a good idea......just had to say this because i wanted to hit my 1000 post while i was here........but it would be good
There is a how-to forum on here already, but you have to PM Amanda to get it posted I think. Right now there aren't any in there for neons, so maybe we should start getting some over there, and then I can post a sticky about it and link to the threads. What do y'all think?
it would be nice to have it, just as the recent added ones you've done, a lot of that probably has already answered questions that people are affraid to ask because of the repetiveness of the topic coming on after doing a search
OK, on the overheating issue, let's get some ideas. Possible problems are:
*Low coolant
*Defective radiator cap
*Clogged radiator
*Bad Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS)
*Bad thermostat
*Radiator fans not working properly
*Headgasket leaking
Anything else?
I will also note that coolant should be mixed 50/50 with DI water and NOT TAP WATER. Tap water will boil off and leave deposits in your radiator, that can lead to corrosion and/or clogging of the radiator.

yeah the fins come loose and fall out over time....usually around 100,000 miles....i put a new radiator in my car about 3 weeks ago and so far hasnt overheated one bit.....i now have to replace the radiator in the wifes car because hers is doin the same thing now...
