Default RPM running low... new spark plugs

Ok. My neon [3spd auto] started to idol low rpm. It drives fine with no ac on, but when the ac is on… rpm starts to fluctuate anywhere between 500 – 1000 then dies. But when I turn the ignition over, it’s fine until I drive it for about 10 minutes with ac on. I then decided to replace the spark plugs. The old ones had corrosion on them I think. They looked liked they had white “powdery” **** on the tips. I bought a Haynes manual and it said to set the space of the spark plugs to .050. Is that right for a 1997 Dodge Neon DOHC? Another thing is… about a month or two ago, I hit a rock and it dented the **** out of my transmission pan. By looking at the dent, It looked like it damaged whatever was inside it. So I was wondering what exactly is behind the transmission pan besides oil… there is a filter I believe, but is there some kind of aluminum body [looks like a labyrinth]? Thanks!

should be gapped to .035...and the OEM champions comes pre-gapped.... and dont be using platinum cause they dont add any performance what so ever.

The Haynes manual is wrong, should be 0.035" as stated by neoncrazy101.

Yes, there is a filter under the pan but it's in the middle.

what's the deal with haynes doing that, yeah plats suck for the neon they hurt more then help, as a matter of fact I don't like anything bosch makes, even there battery's if there was a list of neon bad words or a list of sins Id put Bosch up in the top 3

It is also normal for the car to fluctuate RPMs when the A/C is on. When you engage the A/C it creates more drag on the accessory end of the motor, thus it sometimes causes the RPMs to "bounce"
