Custom Center Console Speaker Install
My door speaker and the one I put in don't directly face eachother for a couple of reasons, the door one is placed further up then the console one it also sits higher up. and the console was angled down towards the ground some to make sure that clearance wasn't going to be an issue, which it wasn't but was done for good messure. I also have speakers in the headrest which are routed to the rear and the front but at the moment is switched to the rear, and the ones in the dash are connected to the front which also have an optional rear switch point. the front speakers all are on a ground level with the exception of the dash ones, which sits lower then the rear speakers which are also angled up, the waves bounce this way but won't meet. it sounds really nice and you can hear things in songs that you wouldn't normally hear, and with the option of choosing which speaker does what with my deck it makes it even more enjoyable. that's all the speakers that are gona go in, I just wanted a surround sound feeling going, next is the dash redo which I start tomorrow.
in order to get the best sound quality you want to use the least amount of speakers possible its messes up imaging hearing voices in mutiple locations, but to each there own and mutiple sound sources on the same plane does create standing waves and reflections, notice how your car sounds diffrent with another person in it.. same concept, but good luck with it and try to do some reasearch it always sucks to spend more money then u have to, take a look at www.termpro.com for some audio questions and misc reasearch, good start though, not tryn to bash u just tryn to lend a helping hand
in my last neon there was a set of 2 way 3.5in dash speakers....6.5in. mid basses in the door....1in. dome tweeters on the a-piller....and 3 way 6x9's in the back.....all audiobahn and every speaker was hooked up to seperate passive cross-overs....but what made the difference was the 800.00 pioneer 9300 head unit that was running it all.....best sounding speakers i ever had...cost like 900.00 for all of them....cross overs will give you the same effect as a bunch of speakers facing different ways.....if you have speakers in your center console and they are facing straight at the door...you wont really hear them....same thing as if your driving down the road with the stereo goin...notice that you hardly hear the drivers door speaker unless you lean down???.....if you want one of the best sounding stereos your gonna hear...then go to wal mart, get some cheap roadmaster 2-way speakers....cost you like 20.00.....then go and get a pioneer 9300, 9400, 9600...or any other high end expensive head unit......but you my car you wont hear anything like it, and it wont sound anything like you'd expect
the 9300 i had was the best thing i ever spent money on and it was well worth it...i wont use anything but pioneer in my vehicles....this thing had a 12 band eq, front and rear high pass x-overs, sub x-over, sound stage organizer(awsome), abd all kinds of stuff........i bet the bastards that stole it are enjoying it right now[:@]

the speakers where old ones that I had laying around, and yeah it does soud diff I know how sound waves work ive been messing around with instrumetns since I was about 10 and im 22 now so ive got the hang of it, i have my circle of 5th's down pact and know my way around my Magix studio program. yeah i know your just trying to help out, no one wants to spend money and then have something suck later. that's one of the reasons why I used the ones laying around.s im gona check out that link you sent some when Im ready to get serious so ill be prepard so thanks a lot for the heads up in advance might have to combined that along with what spud was saying. i had tweeters once but for some reason when I hooked them up to the front they went all weird on me, im gona check that website out and get some ideas together maybe tonight. for the deck Im not sure what I want I know clarion makes some sweet decks. I guy I know is gona sell me 2 12's and a amp that he had in his car, sounded nice but I told him I have to get my alternator situation straightend out first before I start sucking up extra power. I wish I would have read this sooner, I was just at walmart buying extra sand paper, could have checked it out thanks for all the info guys and Ill look into everything you guys said, I could do it soon so I can save myself the time later and just go and grab. thanks a lot guys
im goin to take a shot and assume that you didnt have cross overs hooked to the tweeters.....that would be why they went nuts.....tweeters need crossovers
i stand by the pioneed deh-p9300......i couldnt believe what it was able to do.....you can even change the settings so that it sound like the music is being played at a concert, dome, and a few others....at the dome it gives the music a real cool echo.....you can find them on ebay for like 200-250.00.....and it is well worth the money.....with it hooked up to my stock speakers, it made them sound like there was 2 10's in my trunk.....when it comes to a head unit.....dont go cheap if you want nice sound....like i said...any high end pioneed is awsome.....spend the extra money and get suthing good....unless you steal one and then its free.......bastards[:@]
sorry about you lose man I know how you feel, I was at the movies and someone got into my car and took my girls wallet, didn't have anything of value in it luckly but the jerks got off with soc, had to put out a fraud alert on my credit. 1 month later I get a call from walmart saying that my soc had been seen there ( my bro worked there and somone he knew was going through lost and found and saw my name and called, otherwise it would have still been there probably to this day) I went to get it and told the lady at the desk that i lost it and she went in the back and found it and handed it right to me, no proof that it was me, no nothing. so I got mad and expressed my cocern so to speak that anyone could have said they where Adrian Jefferson and got my soc. ill chec that deck of yours out tonight sounds promising, Im thinking about running a higher amp alternator so when I hook up everything im not soaking to much power up.
i hope spud was joking aobut those roadmasters.. something with aimable tweets or componets with a nice amp.. thats where my money is, but ringing up the security system thing i wouldnt worry aobut a system wo security, a nice 2 way and the neons are easy just depends how crazy u wanna get, took me 2 days to do mine.. and ive done quite a few @ work
could be but, I don't think so he isn't the only person that Ive heard of buying those. im still sanding, i have a little while to go before I get to the sound system, I still have to buy fabric, the sound is gona be last but Id like to have as much as I can now and not worry about forgeting something later, id like one of those 2 ways LCD's when I do get everything together when my car got broke into I started looking at some of the sytec alarms. the one I really liked was the Galaxy 5000RS-2W-1 but installing it is another thing. some places wont install some systems around here.
