Default Can anyone give me some links and suggestions?

Okay, since I plan on getting a first gen 95 neon, I'd like to modify it. And I was wondering if anyone could give me some recomendations on modifications for it.

Here is a list I'd like to plan on.

Tailight covers in a dodge logo shape.

Cold air intake system. Prefferably K&N

A racecar sounding muffler. Not the fart can muffler like on import tuners, but a good racecar sound that is loud.

Thanks!

go to a junkyard and get a Throttle Body off of an Automatic neon

then just make a custom cold air intake and put a k&n filter on it (it'll save you $200)

and just get hte stock DOHC muffler
but if you look through the threads
there is a Borla muffler that looks like the stock SOHC muffler but it's a lot louder

Auto or manual, SOHC or DOHC and what would you like to do, show or go?

Please dont...I haven't seen them for the neon anyway though.

The K&N intake ISN'T a CAI, but rather a warm air intake since it sucks up air from the top of the exhaust manifold. The only true one is made from Iceman, which has been discontinued. Find a used one or make your own.

Borla is good, but if you get a DOHC then wait for the muffler and focus on other areas.

Well, my buddy has a camry and my local racetrack has spectator drags and I think it would be fun to race him there. No street racing though, I'm not into all that body kit stuff and huge spoilers. That tailight cover idea was just thrown out into the blue. I read through the FAQ and it was very helpful. Thanks again for it das2123! I am looking at trying to pull more power out of it for little money. In the FAQ it mentioned the DOHC muffler, but I never read about a Borla muffler. No is that more of a fart can sound or an actual nice racecar sound? I sold my neon about a month ago and it was the dumbest thing I ever done. I miss tooling with it and such, and now that my buddy just got a car. It makes me miss it more. [&:] I am looking to get a 4 door with the 2.0 SOHC, but my buddies is a 2.2 and I can't lwet him beat me. But it's mostly for fun, I wouldn't need much more power since I just usually use it as a daily driver anyways. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Borla is a deep sound, not the rice fart cannon sound.

If you get a SOHC MTX, then look to put on a DOHC muffler, Auto TB, and CAI (make youw own), and UDP...all that totaled up should run you around $150 if you hunt around and find parts.

camrys have 220 horsepower
i raced one and he pulled at 3rd gear

Depends on what year and engine size though.

It's a 95 also with a 2.2L 4 banger. I'm sure I couldn't keep up to the newer V6s.

Remember, it is just for fun. I could really care less if he beats me because I was challenged to it, I didn't challenge him. I'm not really into the street racingscene so I don't care for more bling. Just more power and that racecar sound. Thanks again for all the suggestions and I think I'm going to have to worry about repairs before mods.
