Default would this be a quick temp. fix?

well i know that my cat. is bad... and i was just wondering if drilling holes into it would help with it any? i can feel the back pressure its having on my engine...and plus i got curius about how much pressure was being released at my muffler... and well the car was running under normal condition (temp. and idle) and i could put my hand up to the tip and touch it and it wasn't hot and there was hardly ANY air coming out of it.... so would drilling holes in the Cat. get rid of some backpressure till i get a new exhaust?

It might but I doubt it, you would still have the honeycomb inside, if anything you would just make more noise. better off waiting to get it replaced, or just deleting the cat period. but that depends on your local emmision laws, here in ohio E-Check isn't required.

If you want a completely temporary fix (especially with how ****ty it would probably sound on a Neon), clear out the cat. I wouldn't suggest just drilling holes in it, I mean knock out the stuff. I'd suggest replacing it if at all possible though.

yeah I hear ya on that one, we have no E-Check here in mansfield, a lot of cars I know would fail, I know mine would lol. clearing out the cat is a good free option but takes a good amount of energy. I did that once and got tired of poundng out the honeycomb so I just put it back on and got a straight pipe came with the O2 bung too.
