well if you wanna keep the boost low dont use a boost controller & just hook the hose right on the intake , that will keep it as low as the wastgate spring will allow, if you unhook teh hose it'll go to max boost & usually cooks somethin

Keep the boost very low or lower your compression ratio or you will blow a head gasket. You could blow the motor, but the head gasket is far more likely. A thicker head gasket is the cheapest and easiest way to lower your compression, but changing pistons is better. You'll also want to lower your redline, get an intercooler and get an oil cooler as well. One of the junkyards around here that I just went to 2 weeks ago had two Talon Tsi's that still had their intercoolers in them.

oh its all on the list...just the order to get them that im not sure about....
i think im just gonna use the intercooler from an srt4..
the way i look at it for now is that if im goin to have the turbo on there, then i wont need to drive the car as hard as i do...revving wise anyways..since there will be alot more bottom end power..
where do i get a thicker headgaset???? or do i just double them up??? is that an easier way then getting new pistons....though i know i need new ones anyways..
this sucker is gonna haul ***.....especially when i get the nitrous on it
...though i doubt i will really ever use it...other then the purge

Cool,I got a srt shortblock with turbo & manifold for $500.00 Can $.I got a big *** intercooler from ebay 21 inch by 14 inch x 3 inch,made it fit in front of rad (just a little mod).Made my own plumbing from 2 1/2 in pipeing and various ruber fittings & clamps.bolted on turbo with 6lb boost acuator & blowoff valve,stock injectors and a split second signal controler for timeing adjustment and such.Had some trouble trying biger injectors,so I went with the stock ones. I' been runing it this way for about 6 mo's now with few problems. Ive been rebuilding the srt motor for install in the meantime.It's cost me about $2000 so far for parts and machineing.Should be ready for srt install soon!!. Oh yah it looks like you have parts for oil cooler hookup so use one if you can.

well i got my turbo today...i found it on ebay last nite so i emailed the guy and then got it this mornin....he only lives about 15 minuites from me so it worked out pretty well.....its the srt4 turbo/manifold, mopar BOV, waste gate actuator, o2 housing, and the coolant/oil lines......all for $200.00 so im real happy
now i just have to wait to put it on the car[:'(]
will the srt4 turbo work without any problems on the stock motor...or should i upgrade the internals like planned???? i just want it on asap and dont wanna wait to get the extra 1500.00 for pistons, rods, and block work if i dont have to....i might just put it on and if the motor blows, then so be it, i have extras then while its atleast in the car, i can slowly work on getting the other motor built
i still have to wait to get the rest of the parts, but atleast im a few steps closer....
its just kinda pissin me off because my mom finally got home with her WRX today and after driving that, i want the turbo on!!!! but now i think that after i get this all on, im gonna pay off some bills and then get a WRX too....man that car is bad ***!! even for an auto
only another few hundred bucks and it should be ready to go

i just hate waiting to get this done.....every day there is one more thing to add to my list and i still have the same amount of money as before.....hopefully i will be getting the intercooler this weekend..or if i can find some cheap good pistons
meanwhile, i raced my wife today just for the hell of it....hehe....now ive gotta put a new motor in her car this weekend
we just thought we would have some fun on the way home from work......so we got side by side and took off.....i had no problem of course, but when we got home she said i need to take her car for a ride....well i did....the #1 rod is knocking so bad you cant hear the motor revving....too bad its gotta be a timed project....i am gonna start taking hers out friday nit after work and its gotta be done by saturday nite...which wont be a problem...but i cant work on it sunday because its our 1year anniv. and we are gonna go out all day....and she needs to drive it to work sunday nite[&:]
