What would I check if my reverse lights don't work? Is there a sensor in the shifter box that I should look at?

if its an automatic theres a 3 wire plug on the front of the trans for the neutral switch / reverse lights - 5 spd a 2 wire plug at the front on the top under the battery, the 5 spd switches tend to go bad more than the autos, the both are threaded into the transmissions and just unscrew out
in the lower right side of this pic, to the right of the p/n sticker on this trans, the blue 2 wire plug is the reverse light switch, if you need one for an auto i can snap a quick picture and point it out
