The stock coil pack on the neon works just fine, so don't waste your money upgrading that unless you want to. The MSD coil pack is basically a stock coil pack painted red.

Well I dont know exactly what I want to do. Most of the "mods" I search for are oriented towards better power. Im only looking to increase efficiency, if I happen to get a little more power in the end too Im not gonna complain. I mean itll take probably 18 seconds to cross the 1/4 no matter what I do, so *shrug*

Ive heard mixxed things about whether a WAI or CAI will give more efficiency gains. CAI be drawing in more air (denser) so the computer will compensate and richen it up a little, but then again it also wont need so much to get up and go. If its a WAI itll still be getting the same temp of air as the stock snorkel does, but itll be freer flowing and be mandrel bent. Should increase the flow on the intake side a little. Im leaning more towards a WAI because itll cost less (materials needed to build it), wont have to worry about sucking up water, and shouldnt compensate a:f too much at all. Thus keeping fuel consumption the same. WAI will also give a little more sound resonating under the hood.

The best way to get more MPG is to put on skinnier tires. If you spend $200 on a thermal muffler, and get 1mpg better. You'll have to drive over 100,000 miles just to break even on the cost of gas.

I woudlnt spend more than 50 for a used DOHC muffler. Skinnier tires? Im already rolling on stock 13's with stock width tires. Ive got some 155/70/13 blizzaks im gonna use in the winter, but I think I roll 175's now... maybe

A used DOHC muffler from the junkyard should cost around maybe around $20-$30.

Yeah but heres hoping I find a DOHC neon out there. THe yards are mostly 95 and below around here, so occasionally they get a neon/sunfire or something newer out there but they go fast.
