Alternator belt jumping towards motor, both belts running in toward engine. When I replaced the alt belt I noticed the main pulley was loose. I tightened it, could it still be pushed out to far? If I put some washers behind the alt mount I could probably get it to line up, but that won't fix the other belt.
Anybody know anything about this?

 

sounds like it might still be out to far like you said.....it takes a little bit of force to get it on there as far as it can go

 

I had that exact problem.

Washers will fix your problem.

They seemed to have fixed mine.

Hope this helps some what. Basially put one on the tightening bolt, and it should be good.
