theory...theories

 

how did you go about painting it?

i want to paint my neon that color
or darker gray

 

well i'm foreman of a paint/body/welding shop so i have everything available i could ever need to do a paint job
a car is a small project compared to the commercial trucks and semi trailers we do all the time
i just sanded it with 320 grit,took all the lights out, taped evrything , cleaned it up & shot it, didnt bother fixing dents, or being picky, its just a half worn out daily driver

 

damn

i wish i had one of thoughs paint sprayers so i could do that...

but nooo!!!!

i have to go spend like $1000 just to get it painted

 

you can spray bomb a car for cheap, but you gotta be really good to make it look nice, i painted a car with spray bomb & i couldnt get anyone to belive i didnt use a spray gun
get one of thos cheapy spray guns from harbor freight and use some straight air dry enamel and practice with it for a while

 

what should i practice on?

 

cardboard, you neighbors car

i hate my neighbor...
always putting his garbage up against my neon's rear end...


edit: one more thing!

when you painted the back neon logo did you use black spray paint?

 

well the old black spray bomb on the back of the car that got painted too, so i just taped it off and left it, but yea its black spray paint, its a real bitch taping that off and trimming it with a razor blade to make it look good

 

IMHO, I would've just taken it off for a nice a clean look.
