DO NOT MAKE YOUR CAI OUT OF PVC PIPE....bad idea.

PVC releases Phosgene, a nerve toxin, when on fire!!!!

Which is why in Canada they dislike PVC (for ABS) and in China the recyclers who burn wires to get the copper out have workers who suffer terribly.

Edit: If you have an engine fire think of the Phosgene as an...incentive to get the heck out of the car.

PVC makes chlorofurans and dixins? Ah hell. I wonder if ABS would work.

if the air filter goes about the exhaust manifold then there is no reason to remove the battery

ok. when i first installed it, i had it go over the exhaust manifold and it didn't fit. I had to make modifications to the intake. My hood wouldn't close. So i forced it to close and next thing i noticed was that my can shut off on me and found that the intake was overheating wires directly under it. so i was told to take it off, and did. Than later, i found out that if it was a cold air intake it was suppose to go where the battery goes. By the way, the filter hit the firewall and melts the filter and is pretty much is right above the catalytic convertor.
