ok well i was driving today and my Neon started to act up with its noise level and it began to click like crazy so i pull over and pop the hood while its running and i hear this loud clicking noise...and i placed my hand on that thing on the passenger side motor mount and it was shaking...so i placed my ear up to it and surely enough that thing was clicking WAY louder than my car does on start-up.... what is it? and how important is it? i know it has some vacuum hoses going to it and such but yea lol

i always hear mine clicking loud as hell, its annoying, so i turn the radio up louder to drown it out

It's common and doesn't hurt. Mne would do it every now and then, but not all the time.
