Default Exhaust clamps?

ok well i can finally smell the exhaust coming through the floor boards in my car and well we are very strapped with money so i think we're just do a straight pipe for the cat. i can get the medal bent...but not welded so i think we're just clamp it down...but how well are the exhaust clamps? like do they hold or are they crap?

Are you sure the smell is caused by the cat? Additionally, wouldn't you have to pass emissions...oh wait, Ohio...dunno if you've got emissions.

and yea i know its the cat.... its been bad for like the last couple 1,000 miles so... and plus only like 10% of the exhaust comes out of the muffler so... and yea Ohio atleast central Ohio doesn't have e-check nor any other checks so its all good...but muffler shops still wont put in a straight pipe due to it being illegal...

as long as you get enough pipe in there, regular clamps work fine.....i always weld mine, but sutimes i cant get the angle needed so i just clamp it.....occasionally the clamps work better then welding
