I just got this body kit installed..my car is all black..and yes, u guessed it, the body kit is gel coated white..i went to get the 4 piece body kit painted..and they wanted 400$..im no sherlock holmes, but i know it doesnt cost that much to paint a bodykit which has been pre coated...i looked around and found a place that does it for 300, but parts only meaning i need to take them off my car agian..it was alot of troble getting them fitted on and i dont wanna take them off. should i just buy a paint gun and do it myself? but i dont have a clue bout painting..so what should i do?

 

if you dont know what you are doin then it would be a good idea to take it off and have it painted

 

400 is not a bad price to have that bodykit painted...

 

i mean..the prob is, i painted the car before for 600..awesome paint job..like 2 yrs ago..now its 400 for 4 pieces..id paint it, but they want the body kit off..its a pain puttin it back on..i was at lowes and noticed they had paint guns for a good price..so, if i buy a paint gun and some auto paint, i think i might have something

 

If i were you, i would just save up and pay the 400. If you dont know what you're doing, then the paint job wont come out good.after buying paint and clear coat ,sandpaper and masking paper and tape, you will probably come out paying the same.

oh yea, i wouldnt buy no paint gun from lowes. if its not name brand and at least $300-$400..just leave it on the shelf. btw u need at least a 5hp-60 gallon compressor/air tank to do that type of painting.
