Default Costom Speaker mounts.

I just picked up my 98 Dodge neon SOHC from my friend, And he had TONS of System work done, He took it out when he sold the car to me cause I wanted a practical Daily driver, Right now it just has the POS pioneer 6x9s in it with no door speakers, and the JVC Deck and I dont want to get too involved but I was thinking about making a mount for each side of the Rear above the back seat on connected to the pannel on each side of the window, to hold one 6 1/2 and maybe a tweeter in each, Im just wondering if anyone has done somthing like this before? Thanks

yeah you oculd, though Id rather make a fiberglass pod for it. And why in the rear? If you are doing some custom work leave the 6x9's back there and fab up 6.5" in the door, and if your car has space (my 4door did) you can also fit 5.25" speakers in there aswell. I made tweeter pods up by the windshield so my front stage for my carputer system has 8 speakers, then "6" speakers in the rear, they are really only sony 3way 6x9's... I dont even have them hooked up right now. Front stage > *

edit: oh and ive done it many times, just not exactly like that, with 6.5" w/ tweets in pods in the rear

I am thinking about this because of the angel of the piller back there is a perfect angel to have sound projected from, The doors already had alpine component 6 1/2 in it, They are in my Grand prix now, Im just looking for somthing that's gonna sound nicer then stock, but since it's a winter car/daily driver, I wont mind trying out ideas, Plus it gives me a chance to practice fiberglassing stuff.
