is the tach a universal????? it might need to be set for a 4cyl....
i had an autometer in my car a while back and always wondered why it was so off...then i was looking at a new one on ebay and it said what the wires hanging out the back were for...so i cut both of them and it worked great

if it isnt set for a 4cyl. then you have to cut the 2 wires that loop out the little hole in the bak by the power and signal wires

not sure...there should be the wire that you listed comming out of the back...but there should also be 2 small wires that loop out then back in....
unless your has pins on it that you have to adjust?????

do you have a pic of the back of it????
