I'm glad someone mentioned the brake alignment before I read this, I got almost to the bottom before dcmcguy mentioned it. There is no such thing as a brake alignment, there are brake adjustments and wheel alignments but no such thing as brake alignments. When I had the brakes done on my Daytona Shelby Z it cost around $500 even, but it took them a few trys getting the correct parts and they replaced all four rotors and sets of pads and the rear calipers. There are good and scum mechanics, but most at these little outfits like Pep Boys or these tire, brake and muffler shops are usually inexperienced or scum, but not all. I know of one person that was as mechanically inclined as my sock, he changed his own spark plugs once and came by shortly after with the car making a loud puffing sound and it was way down on power wondering what was wrong......he didn't have one of the plugs in right and it fell out and was dangling by the plug wire.[sm=icon_rofl.gif] None of us ever let him forget that either. Since he has worked at Pep Boys, Firestone and a couple other such places working on peoples cars from oil changes to tune ups and brakes and most other bolt on stuff. Would you trust your brakes or anything else to someone that can't even change their own plugs properly?[sm=bangbang.gif]
