Default HOkay, so i have this problem...

anyway...i bought a 96 plymouth neon a few months back...drove it fine for a couple of months until it started overheating...yeah, i know...check fluid...hoses...yadda yadda...i'm a broke *** college student with no money for insurance...gas...yeah, so i prolly shouldn't have even tried to get this car but anyway...i drive it as best i could until i'm pretty sure i blow a head gasket...no engine pressure at all when i try to start it...so, basically i found this forum to see if i couldn't get some help on pulling my head off and check whatever i need to check...christmas is coming soon and i'm hoping that santa's gonna be good this year and bring me what i need...only problem is i don't know where to start...i've a haynes manual but it only depresses me as i've no clue where to begin...so i guess help me get this post started so i can ask the right questions...uhmmm...thanks in advance...i really want to get this car running again because it ran beautifully before overheating problems ensued....HELllllllpppppppppppp!!!!

Have you looked at your coolant or oil to see if they have mixed??? One of the easiest ways to see if you have a HG leak.

I will move this post into the 1st gen forum for you.

see if you have the MLS head gasket
there will be a little nub between i believe teh 1st and 2nd ports of the intake manifold
also the overheating might be your water pump

btw...how many miles is on the car?
and has any service been done to it before?
