the GTs didn't have the good high performance motors until around 04

i was trying to pass my girlfriend's friend in her i think 01 GT in the opposite lane
and if a car wasn't coming
i could have passed her
she said she was driving as fast as she could too
and it's an auto

thats a shame.....i looked everywhere but in the title

this whole time i missed that one......since thats the case my views kinda change.....i figured it was a 2000 or newer....

i know i can beat a 94 GT....but my car was almost stock then too

 

if you go power to weight...without doing any math it looks like the neons better off but if you even do the simplest math like divide the weight by the hp it comes out almost even 3000 / 200 = 15 2300 / 150 = 15.3333333...333...and so on

 

Not sure what Year Mustangs I pass in this race - but you can download my race video and maybe you can tell me what model Mulletstang these are.

A little bit of info about the video
The video is off of my in car Video and was DVD quality
The DVD file is 3.3Gb - I converted to avi file of 200Mb - so the conversion lost a lot of its quality

Now some info about the race:
I was running late - so I missed Practice and Qualify - therefore I have no Track time and I started at the back of the pack
The last time I was on this track was 2 years ago and they had re-paved it and made some minor changes to Daytona
Keep in Mind there are 7 or 8 other classes of race cars out there at the same time - my race class of SSC (Show Room Stock) is probably the 2nd slowest group on the track at the time and I do pass a bunch of cars through out the race. My Class is amoung the slowest because I am SSC - No Modifcations... Period!!! you added safety equipement and you go race other cars in your class! Keep in Mind the Mustangs are strip down and probably are in a IT (Improved Touring) class - so they probably have basic bolt on like CAI and short throw shifters! I am in a completely stock DOHC 1st Gen Neon with all of the interior.

Safety Gear is the only thing I can install - Roll Cage, Race Seat, 5 Point Harness, Window Net, Fire Extinguisher, and of course Race suit with gloves, shows, bacalav, and Helmet.

There are over 70 cars on the tracks in about 7 or 8 different classes - in my class there are 5 cars total for this race - in the 1st or 2nd lap I catch and pass a Mazda, in about another 4 or 5 laps I catch and pass another neon to finish in 3rd place - I never saw the 2nd or 1st place cars - a Honda Civic Si and a Mini Cooper S

I just re-watched the Video - I actually pass 2 Mustangs

Also some of the commentary is funny - "YES - I do talk to my car when I am racing!"

I do call my Car Baby and my wife named the car Ole Molly

at 1:38pm on the video you will see a BMW that started along side of me at the begining of the race LAP me!

There are a wide asortment of cars out there - you will notice a Sprite that I change back and forth with - I found out after the race he was running only on 3 cyclinders

 

I just watched race 2 - Looks like I qualify behind a Mustang - it takes a few laps having to deal with other cars on the track - but I finally get past the mustang.
