Default 95 Dodge neon sport clutch noise.

I recently had my clutch components replaced due to clutch noise. My mechanic has replaced the throwout bearing, modular style clutch and a new clutch fork transmission mount with a new flywheel three times with no luck.
When it is cold outside my manual transmission makes a noise coming from the clutch area (Bell housing) and when the transmission warms up the noise goes away.
I also put in a new self adjusting cable but the cable does not seem to adjust. I found out that there is not suppose to be any free play in the clutch pedal at all. It has about 1 inch of free play.
Now the mechanic told me that the noise is coming from the input shaft bearing. I have never heard of a input shaft bearing noise going away when a transmission warms up. Maybe I am wrong?? someone please help me out as I would like to know why my transmission makes noise.
Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks
Troy.

if its the noise that im thinking it is, all neons do it when it gets cold outside.....but if it does it when the outside temp is warm, then i dont know what it could be

Hard to really speculate what the problem is, thoguht replacing an input shaft berring is not a big deal. Fluid levels may be an issue, which could explain why the issue seems non-existent in warmer weather. There is a plug on the side of the trans case. You'll have to jack up the car to access it. remove it, but be ready to put it back "quickly" as your trans fluid will come out. factory specification state the mtx fluid should be filled to half the length of the aforementioned plug hole. Could just be you are low on fluid. Have you noticed any difference in shift quality?

Thank you guys for all the help. if all neons have this noise then I will probably just deal with the noise. The transmission shop that I took it too had put in mopar oil part# MS-9224 which Dodge does not recommend for the NV-T350. I have just drained that fluid as that fluid was like 80/90 gear oil and found out that the oil was for a 3500 transmission for a heavy duty truck. The fluid that I have put in Is Type M.S. 9417 Manual transaxle fluid which is highly recommended by the Dodge Dealer.
I guess I will see what it sounds like in the morning, Wish me the best of luck.
Thanks so much with all of your help. When I put in the clutch the noise stops but when the transmission warms up about 1 mile or 2 the noise goes away.

there is a chance that (thanx to this nice cold weather) that when the trans. has not been ran, the oil drains from that bearing, and the trans. has to heat up before the fluid is viscous enouph to fill (prime) the front bearing. however there is one important question to ask. do u have a traditional style clutch or a modular clutch? i have an 97 it originally had a modular clutch but i got the flywheel from a 96 and set up my car with the good old standard setup. this would matter because if its modular, there is no flywheel that can be replaced instead it would be a flexplate attached to a "clutch pack" (a flywheel, pressure plate and clutch all rivetted together and inabling your ability to dissasemble it).

The repair shop I took it too put in a 80/90 gear oil in the transmission. This is not what is suppose to be in it. Another mechanic told me that this is what the noise is coming from. The oil he put in was too heavy and the transmission could not pick up the oil in it. Does anyone know where I can find a (tsb) Technical service bulletin on what goes in the manual transmission on a 1995 dodge neon.
I have heard that you can put in atx+4 and I heard that just 30 weight non detergent motor oil was fine.
Can someone please help me out with this. If I can find out exactly what goes in the transmission then he will get me a used transmission and put it in for no cost to me.
I think he is wrong to put in ms-9224 mopar oil in my transmission.

Thanks again
Troy Buresh
